Lady Tragik

Born into a military dictatorship in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Lady Tragik came to the states as a child when her parents decided to leave everything and chase the 'american dream' - But what was a dream, would remain just that. Raised by her mother, who was an active socialist and taught her everything from Noam Chomski to Cherrie Moraga, Che Guevara and so on, she realized community was the foundation to any state of freedom. At only 21 years old, Tragik has already worked in the community for over 8 years including organizations such as LYRIC, Cuav (Love & Justice), Proyecto Contra SIDA Por Vida, The Center For Young Women's Development, Intersection for the Arts, H.O.M.E.Y's and is now currently a teacher at The DJ Project (Horizons Unlimited) and runs their in-house cd/dvd duplication business (Brick House) as well as run City Bound Entertainment and an active member of Sisterz of The Underground.

As much as community involvement was important to her, music was always in her life. Her step-father has been in an internationally known afro-cuban salsa band called Ritmo Y Armonia for the past 15 years. In a household filled with vibrant sounds and sunday afternoons waking up to the voice of George Clinton and Dizzy Gillespie, there wasnt a day that went by without music breaking down her doors. She would go to all of his gigs as a little girl and fall asleep in the back of the clubs to the sounds of drums, trumpets, pianos and so on, but the one thing that caught her eye was the microphone. She started rapping in middle school, and began taking it seriously about 2 years ago. She's recently dropped a mixtape/album sampler titled \"HUSTLE HARD\" featuring her artist, Mistreat, and is now working on her 2nd album, "Up Close & Personal." Help support this underground music, not too many females in this game puttin it down like this.
